Art
Being a fine art student I like most forms of art prior to all ages
with bend towards very futuristic type of art. What fascinates me so
much a is I deep philosophical, even quasi-religious approach to
color. The spirituality of color as in developing a theory of color.
Another great aspect of is the numerous master paintings beautifully
produced and intertwined with theories and color diagrams since ages.
You get paintings by Rembrandt, Renoir, Monet, El Greco, Leo nardo da
vanci, Van gouge Seurat etc., and on the Indian front Manjit Bawa,
Amrita sher Gil, others. With so many dramatic advancements in
technology, we tend to forget very quickly where we were. Just a
decade or so ago. We are lucky to live in an age with art of different
forms and ages with such profound beauty is even available.
Music
The ability to use one's voice in the singing of praises and joy to
the Lord for the benefit of others, or to play a musical instrument
.The gift of Music is the special ability God gives to certain members
of the body to use music in a joyful and uplifting manner and, by so
doing, praise & worship God. Men of genius averse to music. The basis
for Indian music is "sangeet". Sangeet is a combination of three art
forms: vocal music, instrumental music and dance. Although these three
art forms were originally derived from the single field of stagecraft.
Today these three forms have differentiated into complex and highly
refined individual art forms.
The present system of Indian music is based upon two important
pillars: rag and tal. Rag is the melodic form while tal is the
rhythmic. Some collection on personal front are A Morning Raga/An
Evening Raga by Ravi Shankar, Concert for Peace by Ravi Shankar etc,
with some soothing old film music with likes of Guide, etc.And the
current phase of cocktail of western and Indian classical is some
thing to cherish for.
Movies
A contiguous series of video frames (and optionally synchronized
audio) that are displayed fast enough to provide the illusion of
motion. A frame rate of 30 frames per second is a typical target for a
movie. India is a major regional center for cinema. The number of
movies produced in India is the largest in the world (1200 for the
year 2002), although most of them are commercial flops. Similarly, the
number of moviegoers in India is also the largest in the world.
Although Indian cinema is not widely distributed in other parts of the
world, within India locally made films compete strongly against
imports from the rest of the world.
Several of the main sectors of the Indian film industry have popular
designations imitating Hollywood, such as Bollywood, the Hindi film
industry based in Mumbai (formerly Bombay, hence "Bollywood"). One of
the most artistically inclined film industries in India, producing
critically acclaimed cinema from the likes of Satyajit Ray (who is the
only Indian to to have won a life-time achievement Academy Award), is
that of Bengali cinema. Other important sectors include Kollywood (the
Tamil film industry), the Malayalam film industry, the Kannada film
industry, and Tollywood (this name applies to the Telugu film
industry, but is also used for the Bengali film industry).
according to me some of the notable Indian movie makers are Guru Dutt
,Shekhar Kapur ,Mani Ratnam ,Ram Gopal Verma .Indian actors/actresses
are Amitabh Bachchan ,Kamal Hassan ,Naseeruddin Shah ,Aishwarya Rai
,oldie golden consists of Dev Anand,Dilip Kumar,Madhubala
On the Western Side Mel Gibson, Leo Di Caperio,Tom Cruise ,Russell
Crowe ,Haley Joel Osment(boy wonder) Penelope Cruz, Nicole Kidman and
movies are Vanilla Sky,A.I. Artificial Intelligence ,Gladiator, The
Sixth Sense, classic sound of music, some body up their likes me, the
party, the good the bad and the ugly.
Books
A written work or composition that has been published (printed on
pages bound together. I am not an avid reader since childhood. not
much of a broad taste if it comes to reading, as long as the writing
style is engaging and the subject either educational, spiritual, or
relaxing. Still books like Bhagavad-Gita, VEDAS has some thing to
offer.
